Where can I get really good craft beer in Tulsa?
You can get really good craft beer in Tulsa at any of the craft breweries in the Kendall-Whittier District, like American Solera or Cabin Boys Brewery. If you’re in downtown Tulsa, you can walk write into spots like Eerie Abbey Ales for delicious Belgian ales.
While it doesn’t yet compare to cities like San Diego or Asheville and their dozens of craft beer spots, Tulsa has turned into quite a beer town. Use that knowledge as you explore this vibrant beer scene to find your own favorite new beer bar in Tulsa.
Fun fact: Prohibition in Oklahoma wasn’t repealed until 1959 despite a repeal nationwide in 1933. The state and the city of Tulsa have had some catching up to do!
Top Tulsa Breweries
I’ll start with Tulsa breweries that Brian and I personally enjoyed on our long-term stay in Tulsa. There wasn’t one on the list that I wouldn’t recommend, as they all offer something a little different.
That could be ambiance, Belgian beers you don’t see at most breweries, or just a fun atmosphere with lots of games available for your enjoyment.

GIMME MY TULSA BEER MAP!
1. American Solera (Kendall-Whittier)
I loved the super airy space at American Solera. This place gets a ton of natural light, which means pours that look like a million bucks. It’s a big reason why this place was a James Beard Outstanding Bar Award semifinalist in 2023.
Luckily, it’s not all vibes here. The beer is delicious, too. I tried a canned peach ale while Brian went for some tasters. We didn’t have a bad sip.
Fun fact: They have a variety of wines available if you’re on a strict wine-only diet and a nice menu of grub from Bub’s Burgers, making this one of the best Tulsa breweries with food.
If you just want a little snack, select a nosh from a more limited menu of cheese boards, olives, and nuts.
2. Cabin Boys Brewery (Kendall-Whittier)
If you want to be all efficient with your Tulsa beer tasting, Cabin Boys Brewery is right next door to American Solera.
They had a great selection of tasters during our visit, including a Belgian-style quad for Brian’s Belgian beer-loving heart. That’s the Bearded Theologian if you’re interested.
They have a modest outdoor space if it’s a nice day, but we liked hanging out inside. You’ll find lots of games to occupy your time if you’re looking for some entertainment with your pours.
3. Eerie Abbey Ales (Downtown Tulsa)
Eerie Abbey Ales was Brian’s favorite Tulsa brewery. A downtown location means this one may be a little quieter than the others, but they also boast the best Belgian beer selection in town.
I loved The Abbess, a Belgian-style strong ale that sipped like a sour. Brian loves a strong pour, so he was here for the Belgian quads. We had visited Belgium recently ahead of our Tulsa stay, and I’m telling you, these beers are legit!
Fun fact: If we visited Tulsa prior to Oct. 1, 2018, we would be drinking some very different beer. That’s when the state finally passed a law stating that stores and brewpubs could now sell beers over 3.2 percent alcohol by weight, or about 3.9 percent alcohol by volume. That would certainly have affected the prospects of a Belgian brewery.
If you’re not that interested in Belgian beer, they also have a variety of other beer styles as part of their Daughter House Series. That’s where you’ll find stouts, IPAs, and more experimental options.
4. Heirloom Rustic Ales (Kendall-Whittier)
Heirloom Rustic Ales prides itself on small-batch, flavorful beers that show off a commitment to locally-sourced ingredients. There are a variety of ale styles here, but their gose and stout were my favorites.
Note: I realize I have disparate tastes.
In the warmer months, expect more pilsners and Belgian-style saisons. Find the dog-friendly modern taproom in the Kendall-Whittier District, just east of downtown Tulsa. If you’re as lucky as we were, you’ll meet a samoyed named Scout during your visit.
5. Marshall Brewing Company (Kendall-Whittier)
Marshall Brewing Company was Tulsa’s first craft brewery, but it doesn’t show its age at all. The beers on tap here are German-inspired, so expect a rotation that includes Kölsch, lagers, and Munich dunkels.
We were lucky enough to enjoy tasters and a Radler in their biergarten on an unseasonably warm February day. I’d highly recommend it if you’re able to do the same to really embrace those German vibes.
6. Nothing’s Left Brewing Co. (The Pearl)
I imagine “nothing’s left” is what you say when it’s time to close out at this brewery in Tulsa’s Pearl District.
Nothing’s Left Brewing Co. is also big on punny beer names, and you I know I love the puns.
Oh, you like ’em, too? You’ll probably enjoy Deez Nuts, an imperial stout that is the result of that perfect combo of chocolate and peanut butter. Love something funky? Same. Try She’s My Berry Pie, a sour fruited gose.
Punny beer names aside, Nothing’s Left serves up mouth-puckering sours and bold stouts to tempt even the most discerning beer palates. If you’re here to drink and play, an excellent selection of games, including darts, await at very this fun Tulsa brewery.

- Renaissance Brewing Co.: This brewery in Tulsa gets its name from its location in the Renaissance neighborhood of Tulsa and their hopes for the Tulsa beer scene. This one is a true passion project with a diverse lineup of beer styles.
- Welltown Brewing: I definitely have some FOMO over missing out on this one. This option in the Tulsa Arts District has a rooftop that boasts city skyline views as you sip on your IPAs and berry sours.

Ready for the Best Breweries in Tulsa?
Your Flight: I use a variety of tools to find cheap airfare, but if you’re looking to book during a particular period of time, you should use Skyscanner. It’s a great tool for when you’re more flexible, too, as it allows you to compare travel based on length of travel, departure date, etc.
Tulsa isn’t some global powerhouse when it comes to tourist activity, but let that be the problem of everyone missing out on this very fun town. If your Southern road trip travel is limited to Tulsa, you’ll fly into Tulsa International Airport for your trip. It’s a smaller, regional airport, so expect connections.
For adventurous folks who travel on the reg, I also subscribe to Going, formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights. You’ll get cheap flight deals from your home base straight to your inbox. It’s a great way to visit destinations you’ve always wanted to visit or that weren’t even on your radar.
Your Accommodations: I usually use Booking.com and Hotels.com for our hotel needs. Both offer loyalty programs and now offer listings that are more of the home or condo rental variety, which is great. Vrbo is my preferred Airbnb alternative.
